Aussie superstar announces tour dates!!
It’s the day that all Australian country music faithfuls have been praying for since May 2007. And its here. Australian country music superstar and favourite export Keith Urban has announced that he will be touring the nation at the end of the year. Tour dates have been released for the 2009 tour, which includes shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Woolongong.
The announcement of the Australian tour follows the success of Urban’s latest album, Defying Gravity. The album hit number one on the US country charts, the Canadian country charts and hit number one on the multi-genre Billboard 200, a fantastic achievement for any artist. Adding to this, Urban’s first offering from the album, ‘Sweet Thing’ cracked number on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and the Canadian Radio and Records Country Singles chart, and his current release ‘Kiss A Girl’ also took out the top spot on the Canadian Radio and Records chart.
Last time Urban toured Australia, his show was electrifying. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of his performances is not only his awesome vocals, his astounding ability to play a million different instruments and his attempt to include the audience as much as possible, but the evident passion that he displays for his music. There is not a time on stage where Urban is not smiling and dancing around, clearly content and comfortable with his position and clearly thankful to be where he is. “What I love most about what I get to do now … is that I get to play music and have these people connect with it,” Urban told journalist Rahni Sadler on Channel Seven’s Sunday Night . If the 2009 tour is anything barely resembling the absolutely fantastic show that attracted sold-out crowds last time the superstar graced his home country’s shores, than it should not be missed.

December 12, 2009 – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
December 14, 2009 – WIN Entertainment Centre, Woolongong
December 16, 2009 – Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney
December 18 & 19, 2009 – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
